Subject: Funky adaptec scsi operation

        I'm running an adaptec 1540 (that's right, not an a 1540A or
1540B or 1542B, or any of those) and am seeing some intense weirdness
with the boot and root images from tsx-11. I can build a swap
partition and an filesystem just fine. But, when I put stuff on
the filesystem, it mysteriously gets corrupted. I have verified
the corruption using `sum' on the root disk. It seems that once
I copy it over it is fine, but after I copy some indeterminate
number of other files over to the filesystem, the first files that
I copied get corrupted.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before?
