What's the fastest ET4000 based card on the market priced at ~$200?
Are there any appreciable speed differences between the ET4000
based Genoa, Boca, Tseng and other cards?
I think there was a recent issue of a british magazine (PCWorld?) that
had as a review of lots of video cards. Apparently, S3 cards seems to
be the thing for those who can't afford a TI320[12]0 thingy.
I would consider buying an ATI Ultra as I think performance
is better due to the built in Blitter, etc, however relatively
flawless Xwindows operation is my main goal (aside from the
animation I mentioned above) so unless 8514 support has been
integrated into the server or at least stabilized I'll stick with
an ET4000.
Yeah, this one did well in the test. It also has built in
anti-aliasing, which would be nice. I think there is a 8514 X11, but
I don't know for sure.
