The previous appends on this topic refer to SCSI-attached tape drives,
and comment
on there being a lack of SCSI device drivers at present.
It is my understanding that Colorado Memory Systems and Irwin backup
tape drives
attach, not via SCSI, but via the IDE connection already in use for the floppy
disk drives. They interpose themselves as a two-sided connection between tape
drive and cable, effectively daisy-chaining.
If this is the case, a SCSI driver would not be needed -- hopefully the
tape drive
could just ride on the floppy driver.
Anybody have experience under LINUX with any of these IDE tape drives?
