Would something as simple as the Linux bunch here agreeing on a suitable
blurb that can be placed on a flyer (read: 8.5x11 sheet of plain, folded
paper) and distributed to local computer stores (read: placed next to the
cash registers) for folks to pick up and peruse be out of the question?
Most stores are willing to let you take up a few inches of counter space
for something like this.

I know this is more of a passive form of advertizing, and I'm sure most
folks would like a more active form, but the costs for high-quality
advertizing can get pretty steep.

If this or something like this is agreed upon, I'd be willing to help
distribute Linux info in my area.
