Subject: Help! can't load /lib/libc.2.2.2
Date: 28 Sep 1992 05:59:25 GMT

When I turn on my PC this evening, I found that it can't load /lib/xxx, and
kept display the error message. So I booted off from floopy, and mounted HD.

I found that soemthing strange happed. My /lib directory became unknow
big file, which had permissions as " ?rwxr-xr-x ". It was huge(over megabyte)
And there were some more file that became the same monster in /etc directory.
And I also found that the monsters are of the exact same size.

So i remove all the monsters, and copy corresponding /lib and /etc/xx from
my floppy.

After I did it, "pwd", "emacs", etc executables kept saying
Can't load library '/lib/libc.2.2.2'

Probably shared lib is gone now. And My new X386(ATI card compatible) didn't
work either with the same error message.

Now, I have download GCC stuff from tsx-11.mit.edu, and installed them.
But there isn't any file called 'lib/libc.2.2.2'. But gcc and other stuff
seems to be working fine.

What did I do wrong? Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.
