I am not currently running any SCSI devices. I have the
msdos/proc/ext fs and soundblaster code in the kernel.

I got a reply from Bill Davidsen (who has the same motherboard)
indicating that the board works flawlessly for him. I will
try a couple of his suggestions (check the cache ram to make
sure it's seated properly, exchange the motherboard, etc.)
