Subject: xload on 0.97.4, gcc 2.2.2 and X 1.1

Hi,

 A couple of weeks ago some kind soul posted information on how to get
xload to work under linux. I followed these instructions, and can bet
the program to compile and link just fine. However, when I run it I
get the following messages:

invalid psdatabase
symbol '_avenrun' not found
trying to read invalid address

followed by a core dump. I have tried variations on _avenrun, to no avail.
I checked the w code and it also uses _avenrun, which works.

The relivant code in get_load.c is

void InitLoadPoint() /* SYSV386 version */
{
    open_psdb();
    _aver = k_addr("_avenrun");
    close_psdb();
}

I am using linux 0.97.4, ps for 0.97.4, gcc 2.2.2, and X386 V. 1.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jean.
