Well, I got the 0.97.5 boot image that hlu made(THANKS!!) and on boot it says:
[...lots of stuff...]
microsoft busmouse detected and installed.
Now get this, I don't have ANY busmouse at all.
The only cards I have are:
VIDEO: BOCA ET4000AX w/1MB
NETWORK: ArcNet card from work for Novell. IRQ 7
First SERIAL BOARD: 1:0x3f8,IRQ4;2:0x2f8,IRQ3;
Secnd SERIAL BOARD: 3:0x3e8,IRQ5;4:0x2e8,IRQ2(9), IRQ's could be reverse, I
can't remember, and I am in the middle of three rayshade traces, and I am
not about to reboot to check. ;)
All I can figure is that maybe linux thinks that the network card is a
busmouse? whatever it is, everything still works, so I will live with it. :)

I just got up with X this week, and compiled xv, and life couldn't be better.
(Well, I had to borrow more memory, and I desperately need a 387.)

Any chance of tcpip over arcnet, or am i crazy to even think it.
If it gets going GOOD over ANY network, I will buy the necessary cards for
my linux machine, and the novell server, and whatever else I need at that
end, to get going.
I hate haveing to boot dos to update my reports. :(

Well, Thanks everyone!

PS, would linuxers at world.std.com please let me know you are there?
thanks,
