I am not sure what you are trying to say. I often have several VC's
going at the same time. One of them might be compiling something. Another
might be downloading something with kermit. A third one might be in emacs
halfway through the readme file that explains what I should be doing on one of
my other VC's, and on a fourth one I might be grepping for something on a
CDROM. Now which one of these processes should be given priority because it is
on the console? My feeling is that if I want one particular process to have a
higher priority, then I want to set it myself.
