From: aviz@lanai.cs.ucla.edu (Dr Algirdas Avizienis) Subject: I Can't get the Linux kernel to compile... Date: Thu, 17 Sep 1992 02:53:59 GMT
Sorry to post this, I'm sure this must be an FAQ of some
sort, but I can't get the linux kernel (0.97pl1) to compile.
I'm using GCC 2.2.2d and linux 0.97pl1. I read the README.kernel_srcs,
and I created a symlink using ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/linux /usr/include/linux
and I also did a make dep after installing GCC 2.2.2d.
It goes fine until it gets to build.c, then it has parse errors with
signal.h and can't compile build.c.
I've looked through all the FAQ's and the README's and read this newsgroup
for about a week, but i've still had no luck. Any help would be VERY
much appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.
PLEASE reply, either by e-mail or through a post, because I want to install
the later patches..
