 i uploaded R. Marlet's viewer.tar.Z to sunsite.unc.edu (dir
   pub/Linux/X11/Incoming). it's a elisp/font package for Epoch
   (and also Lucid Emacs but Lucid's 8bit support is broken) that
   enables one to see TeX symbols while in Epoch. it has both
   TeX and LaTeX support (ie abbrev for most std TeX macros) and
   also includes some decor/hilighting.
