OK, thanks to all who replied, there have been many replies. So if anyone
else is in the same position as I, here's what to do :

1. buy 20megs of RAM,
2. buy a 387
3. buy a bigger hard drive
4. buy a 486 motherboard
5. wait until prices drop even further then buy a 486 motherboard
6. wait a bit longer, but a 486 motherboard with local bus video/hd
6. wait even longer and buy a P5 motherboard
7. get a friend in the states!

Well, thanks all, you've really solved my problem :-)

I guess the lesson here is, everyone has very unique requirements.

Cheers,

Scott.
