Subject: problem compiling a 0.97xx kernel
Date: Tue, 8 Sep 1992 00:55:26 GMT

Whenever I try to compile a 0.97xxx kernel (0.97p1, 0.97p1.5, 0.97p2,
0.97p3 ,0.97p4) while running a 0.97xxx kernel I get an error that
stops the compilation.

These are the type of errors I get:

ld: premature end of file in strings of "somefile".o
  or
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 6
  or
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11

I have tried with gcc 2.2.2 and 2.2.2d and I also tried disabling
my swap partition, all with no changes.

However, compiling any 0.97xxx kernel while running kernel 0.96cp2 runs
just fine.

My system is a 33Mhz 486, 8 megs of RAM and IDE disks.

Any idea ?
