Subject: Floppy interface tap units info request

Hi,
I'm trying to find out whether or not those tape backup units which use the
floppy interface connectors will work under linux. My information has it that
they don't require a device driver under DOS but only work with specific
software which is hence probably doing the job of the driver.

Does anyone know anything more, specifically whether they can be used under
Linux without me having to write a device driver.

The brand names that seem to occur most frequently are alloy and mountain.
