Somehow, when minicom is run, cursor mode in xterm is being set
incorrectly. After you start up minicom, hold down the control key and
click the middle button in the middle of the xterm. One of the items that
you can change the setting for is something like "appcursor." Sorry if this
sounds vague, but I'm not on my pc now, so I can't tell you what the exact
wording of the menu is.
