Subject: X, mouse, and clock.exe -- HELP!

I have linux 0.98 patch level 3 installed and running quite happily, at least
it appears to be happy. I have moved on to trying to install X11 v2.0 (do I
have the correct version for 0.98 pl3?) I have only a VGA monitor, and hence
am trying to use X386mono. However, my clock settings in Xconfig are not
quite right. I can tell that the screen is definitely X, but the picture is
a tad bit distorted. I have seen much mention of a program called clock.exe
that is supposed to tell me the clock settings for my monitor. Where can I
obtain this program? Is there an FAQ or README file for setting up X11 v2.0
somewhere that I can obtain so I don't have to keep posting stupid questions
to the net?

Finally, I have a logitech serial mouse attached to /dev/ttys0 (I think). X
comes with a neat little mouse tester program, and I successfully tested my
mouse under 0.98 pl2. However, since upgrading to pl3, the tester no longer
works for my mouse, hence, even if I get my display working for X, I can't
use it anyway. Is it possible that all of the serial problems that I have
seen Linus talking about that were supposedly fixed are still broken?

Any and all help will be much appreciated.
