Just a quick comment, Perl is availible for MickeySoft-DOS.

Uh, Felix, a question though. How would you un-"munge" the messages
coming *from* the gate into the proper newsgroup(s)? It wouldn't be
a problem if the the people on Fidonet would include a line at the top
of their message stating the newsgroup that it should be in, but this
is a "kludge". Why not just have another Fidonet echo for each
additional newsgroup that's created? There wouldn't be an increase
in Fidonet's traffic (well, not much of one :) ...
Personally, I think that if there's going to be new newsgroups, then
there should only be a *few* of them. comp.os.linux.annouce (moderated),
comp.os.linux.bugs, comp.os.linux.new (for newbies of Linux), and of
course comp.os.linux .
