Subject: adduser in SLS 0.98 (I read the FAQ and it still doesn't work)

I tried adding a user manually and using the adduser program.
It creates the directory and adds a line to the passwd file.
When I login to the new user I get 'shell-init permission denied
pwd: permission denied' I tried changing the permissions and mode, still
does the same thing. The build in 'user1' account is OK but I cannot create
any new accounts without the errors.

Frustrated but still please with Linux
