One point of correction (although follow-ups should still go to
news.groups):
I was mistaken when I stated the relative volume of the comp.unix.bsd
newsgroup to the comp.os.linux newsgroup. I hadn't been keeping up in
comp.unix.bsd, and my newsreader (gnus) did not display an accurate
count of the number of articles available in comp.unix.bsd. Oops.
Sorry about that.
Nevertheless, the rest of my points stand. The volume in comp.unix.bsd
is less than that of comp.os.linux, but it is within the same order of
magnitude. And the new group, which will take almost all of the traffic
in comp.unix.bsd, is comp.os.386bsd --- one group, not a collection of
subgroups. I suggest we do the same and keep with what we currently
have.
