I'm already paying $~25+K to come to this school. I don't have the
money to pay for another site where I can use a newsreader which filters
out crossposts. So, if I want to read news, this is the only place I
can. And thus I am bound by the newsreader choices here - and none of
the newsreaders here filter out crossposts. I can't just ftp, compile
and run another newsreader either, since CMU has some
highly-non-standard news setup (AMS - Andrew Mail System) which would
require some major hacks on the existing newsreaders to get them to
function properly. I simply don't have the skill/time to do that.
Therefore, I *don't* *have* *a* *choice*. You claim I have choices -
name 'em.
