Is your DOS partition marked as 'active'? Try using 'fdisk' to see
(fdisk /dev/hda) - there should be a '*' under the Boot column for
your DOS partition. (This is assuming the fdisk from the MCC interim,
HJ's base, or the 0.97.1+ root disks).

What version of MS-DOS are you running? I can't say I've heard of any
single version of MS-DOS that definitely doesn't work with LILO, but
there are some that I know do (ie. DR-DOS 6.0).
