From: apm233m@vaxc.cc.monash.edu.au Subject: Announcing new FPU emulator for Linux Date: 16 Oct 1992 07:28:31 GMT
(This has been posted to the mail list, but I don't know if that
gets automatically posted to the newsgroup as well..)
I have uploaded my 80387/80486FPU emulator for Linux to:
tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/ALPHA/FPUemu/wm-FPU-emu.T.Z
It has several advantages over the current emulator: (a) it is a far
more complete emulation, attempting to emulate all of the 80486 FPU
instructions, and there is no need to use a `soft' math library with
it, (b) it is faster than the current emulator, (c) more accurate, (d)
leaps tall buildings, ...
Its disadvantage is that it takes more memory.
Although released as ALPHA, it is based upon my 80387 emulator for
djgpp for which I have received no reports of bugs. However, I have
re-worked the code and extended the functionality...
