You can run X in 1024x768 with almost any video card. I'm running it
at that res (with 256 colors) on a Compuadd High Res card (generic form of
a Cardinal Tseng 4000 chipset video card). So really, as long as you stick
to a popular chipset (such as T4000), you should have no problems. Which
leads me to ask:
Who wants Trident?
