Hi,

The last few months, I was a bit annoyed about the little attention
that Linux got in the world computer press.
I really couldnt figure out why the world media could not see that
Linux was so much better than all that commercial junk.

When BYTE did an article on UNIX, all they could mention was
Windows NT, and inferiour Unices that couldnt even do X11.
It just makes ya wanna scream out: wake up, dimwits.

To my knoledge there had been only one publication on Linux.
That was in 'iX', a german mag. (rather 'cult'ish, with few readers.)

However, in the November issue of another german mag. C'T, there is
an article on Linux. C'T is a very popular magazine of high scientific
quality, and available all over Europe. The article was pretty
possitive on Linux (as to be expected... kinda hard to write an
article that puts Linux down).

I wonder if there has been an American magazine who did an article on
Linux yet. I myself am Dutch, and I am pretty sure the first article
on Linux in a Dutch mag. will only happen in five years or so.
(Dutch computer magazines really suck, and are very backward).

Then again, it makes ya wonder if Linux would be better off, when
exposed to the world at large. The cult-like Linux community probably
has its advantages, but every time I read some retarted journalist's
junk about Windows NT being the OS of the future I can't help thinking:
'Boy, U R wrong'.

        Take care,

                Bram Stolk
