Another vote for TCP/IP here!

I am currently looking around USENET for a way to set up a PC to allow me
access to Internet from home. Even DOS can easily support TCP/IP or
SL/IP as a simple add-on. With so many public access systems allowing
access via UUCP or SL/IP (and PPP?), an "affordable" (free) Unix would
be ideal once I got gcc up and running. I'll probably dive in and give
Linux a whirl, but I sure hope I can get SL/IP running!

DOS waffle or trumpet would at least get me USENET independant of my
work-place, but the DOS wasteland does have it's limitations!
