Hello LinuxWorld !

I have started Linux since June and X1.1 since July

Now I have .96 (no scsi support)
and the standard adm utils (i.e ps top shutdown etc )
plus a trivial lp-scheduler ( create a tmp file then
execute a barbaric "system( cp file /dev/printer )"

By this time i am working on a socket version of
lpsched but this is not the aim of this newsletter .

With the above descripted configuration i tried to crash and overload
in every manner : compiling & X with 3 xterm & printing &
fsck & and obviously top to see
how the system could manage them .

In all tests i never saw 'Kernel panic or something else
so i wonder if i can get advantaged installing .98
when i am not fond of CD-roms scsi ext-filesys and i have
no hope to connect my home computer in any net community
so I can't use Tcp services or Nfs and more general
AF_INET domain service

Can .98 increase performance during a normal monouser session or
with at last a ttys* active

        Ciao Diego
