djgpp (the new name of djgcc) is the GNU c and c++ compiler plus a dos
extender. Since it is essentially the same compiler as that used with
Linux you can compile stuff on Linux and then transfer it to ms-dos
and run it. This works at least at the individual module level (I
have compared the results), but note that many of the Linux library
modules will not work under ms-dos and you will therefore need to link
with the libraries (and start-up code) which come with djgpp.
