Subject: SCSI Controller Recommendations?
Date: 5 Oct 1992 21:25:55 GMT

I'm purchasing a Wangtek 5150ES tape drive in hopes of making it
work with Linux (It's the one from comp.unix.bsd/
misc.forsale.computers if anyone really cares). I don't have a SCSI
controller yet and am looking for recommendations. I know this
drive will work with the Adaptec 1542B under 386BSD. So if need be,
that looks like a good combination to try to make fly under Linux.
However, I'd really like something cheaper for the moment. I don't
suppose by some miracle the ST-01 works with tapes? (the cheapest
SCSI controller card I know of)

If anyone knows of a good source for the 1542B, that would be nice
info to have.

TIA,
