Interesting thing: my roommate received a flyer for Mach386 in the
mail today. It is a fairly informative piece about the 2.5 kernel (with an
optional upgrade to 3.0 for something like $195). The base system (with
an X11R4 (NOT R5!!!) server), compiler (I don't know if it's gcc) and
the usual suite of utilities (I don't have the exact list with me) costs
$995. This is from Mt. Xinu.

The point is that this is the kind of info flyer I think should be distributed
with/for Linux. It clearly states the good points of the OS as well as the
hardware requirements. I think that people would be even more willing to get
into Linux because it's free.

If I have some time in the near future, I would be willing to whip something
up similar to this for the Linux community [warning: I use -ms with groff :) ].
If people want to print it out and distribute it at user's group meetings
or something, that would be great. Mail me about anything you want to see
included in such a packet.
