Hi,
   I have just started using linux and have a few questions:

Several install scripts (lib41 etc) apply zcat to a .TZ file, yet on my version of linux (0.97.1 root, 0.98 kernel) compress complains about the file not being in '.Z' form. Am i missing a better version of compress ?

When I compile using g++ and refer to cout, the linker says it can't find cout
or operator<<(...etc) Am I missing some library, or some linker switch? g++ -v
shows -lg++ -lgcc. I have 2.2.2d7 and 4.1.

Finally, where can i find make and x11v2.0. I can't seem to find them on tsx-11
anywhere. I want x11v2.0 because I have a Trident 8900.

Thanks in advance
