Ok guys: how does Coherent do it? :-)

There you are -- a Profit making company, with manuals and support,
floppy distribution (albeit smaller than any of Linux et al), all
for $100. They have to even write the OS ;-)

Some say their support ain't great shakes. I wasn't hoping for more
than non-800 number help in installation.
