Get the MCC or SLS distribution and continue from there. Alternatively,
if you like tearing your hear out, get the boot+root disks, gcc, various
other packages (nobody really has a good list), install them and start
collecting bits and pieces from elsewhere.

Do you mean hardware? Any kind of 386, a couple of meg of memory (4 MB
seems to be a practical smaller limit for most people, but if you don't
mind waiting, 2 MB works), about 10 MB of hard disk real estate (as a
minimum, you need more if you install more programs).

X needs a supported SVGA card (those based on ET4000 chips seem to be
most popular), a matching monitor, and practical use needs 8 MB of
memory. Hard disk space is probably around 20 MB as a practical minimum
(I don't have X so I don't have hard numbers). Again, if you install
more programs, you need more hard disk.

>3) Does Linux have an emulator for Dos?

Not yet. One is in alphatesting I think.

>4) Can I assume this is 386 code dependant and won't run in an OS/2 box?

Yes.

>5) Should I wait for 1.0, or go for it now?

I don't know. I doubt that 1.0 will be _that_ much more stable, the
current version seems to be working pretty well, and the 0.96 versions
(upon which, for instance, the SLS disribution is based) are quite
stable.

>6) (Related to question 2) How much space?

Answered already, I hope.

>7) Any sound drivers in the works or completed(SoundBlaster or LPT1)?

I think there is one, at least in testing. Anybody?
