  I went to TSX and downloaded the kernel sources. I changed the line in
the makefile from

SVGA_MODE= -DSVGA_MODE=1
   to
SVGA_MODE= -DSVGA_MODE=NORMAL_VGA
 
  After recompiling the Kernel all seems fine. X is even happy. 8-)
