I waited a couple of days, hoping one of the Regular Wizards (regwiz?) would say something, but now I have to speak...
I don't know what article inspired this reply, but it suggestes
someone was complaining that Byte doesn't cover free software.
Surely you are Kidding?
Byte, as I remember from It's earlier days has always had tons of
advertisements, and therefore tons of *advertisers* who *pay* them
large dollars to *sell* their software products in the Pages of BYTE.
Like, say the Santa Cruz Operation, publisher of a well known version
of Unix.
Of course they're not covering free software, their advertisers would
stop sending them checks!
You may see mentions once in a while, but never regularly...
What you might want to do is check out a Magazine like the C Users
Journal, which is still somewhat commercial, but does cover the nets
somewhat.
Excuse me if I have made any gross errors.
Also excuse me if I singed anyone who didn't deserve it...
