Subject: Choose VGA board for Linux, OS/2 and WIN3.1 From: davidho@dopey.rc.arizona.edu Date: Thu, 01 Oct 1992 13:59:29 MST
Could someone give me some advice how to choose a good VGA card?
From the FAQ of Linux I have follow choices:
ET3000 (for ex. GENOZ 5300/5400)
ET4000 (Tricom, STB PWR Graph, Sigma Legend, etc.)
GVGA (Genoa 6400)
PVGA1A (Paradise VAG Professional)
WD90c00 (Paradise VAG 1024)
I will install Linux and run X on my 486sx.
I use Diamond Stealth right now. I still get some problems
work on my MS window 3.1. And I am consider to work on
OS/2 2.0 in the near future.
What's the best choice of Vedio Board that I can get satisfied drivers
and can work with Linux, OS/2 2.0, and MS window3.1?
Any suggestions, specifications, and mail order company info are
appreciated.
