: That depends on what you get for it. Disks cost money, postage & packaging
: do the same, and if you have to make a living from distibuting PD/freeware/
: shareware, you just have to charge some money. I think 2-3 dollars/disk is
: a fair price.

We let people pay less than $1 per disk. People get the latest release, e.g.
we had a UNIX GROUP day last saturday, people got 0.97pl6.

We compile a lot our selves, add X, make a bootable root floppy etc.

The base distribution is 10 floppies (3.5"), an extra 10 for X, 10 for TeX and
10 for Emacs. Still growing of course.

: Another great way to get LINUX to the people (who don't have net access)
: would be a user club, where you can copy for free, but as long as we don't
: have such a club, it's a good thing to have distributors carry LINUX.
: (as long as they keep their distribution up to date [the biggest problem
: by now])

That is right, I dont understand why known distributors are several weeks behind.
We never have a problem keeping up with Linus and friends? Never more than 4 or 5
days time-lag.
