Hi Guys:
I asked a question regarding Ultra yesterday and I haven't got any reply (I
know, I need to give time, but I can't seem to afford much for some technical
reasons from university which is going to pay for this - sort of). Please
reply as soon as you can.
ATI Ultra now comes in two new hyped models Ultra+ and Ultra Pro. I can get
the plain ATI Graphics Ultra for $239 from Gateway 2000 (It looks to me a very
good deal but theirs is a OEM without the mouse port) it has 512K Dram and 1M
VRAM and ofcourse the Mach 8 co-pro. THe person I talked to (in GAteway) said
that it is no different than the Ultra you find in the local store except for
the mouse port.
VERY VERY improtant, I am told that Xv2.0 or a variation of it
supports ATI ultra - please correct me if I am wrong.
Now my question, is the price right or too fishy? Are the other models such as
Ultra+ and Ultra Pro so much better that I should really go for them.
I have NEC 5FG, a very cabable monitor by normal standards, so may be this
is a reason to to go for the best. What do you think?
Please reply as fast as you can.
Thank you very much for your consideration of my problem.
Ramesh
