That depends on what you get for it. Disks cost money, postage & packaging
do the same, and if you have to make a living from distibuting PD/freeware/
shareware, you just have to charge some money. I think 2-3 dollars/disk is
a fair price.

By the way, using the internet isn't free either. Many people don't have
to pay directly, but the taxpayers (we all), or the institutions we work at
have to.

So I don't think you can blame distributors for charging for their services.

Another great way to get LINUX to the people (who don't have net access)
would be a user club, where you can copy for free, but as long as we don't
have such a club, it's a good thing to have distributors carry LINUX.
(as long as they keep their distribution up to date [the biggest problem
by now])
