Subject: What's a good modem for linux?

I'm looking for a 14400 fax/modem for my system, which runs linux
most of the time. I am considering the Intel 400 (internal or external).
I've heard that it may have problems with linux. Can anyone verify
that? What is a good 14400 modem that will work reliably under linux?
All suggestions are welcome.
