this might interest a few of you. In the tcpip suites (i.e.
tcpip-0.8[.1].tar.Z or b4/tcpip.taz under SLS) there is a shell
script called rc.net in /usr/etc/inet
which is called by rc.local during boot up.
Make sure that you set the execute bit for this shell script is set.
Otherwise, the daemons will not be executed. You could also add
a 'sh' in front of rc.net in rc.local. I hope this helps someone
out. I spent many a frustrated hour last night getting things up
and running. But it was worth it. As I write this, I am displaying
Mathemtica graphics under X Windows that I calculated on a remote
machine. The remote client support is AWESOME. Thanks to everyone.
