Subject: LILO 6 says Illegal version of boot sector
Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1992 14:42:40 GMT

A while back (well, a week ago) I succesfuly installed the SLS package
and used LILO 5 to make Linux boot from /dev/hda2 *thrill*. The version
of the kernel was 0.98pl1. This week, I recompiled the kernel twice,
once 0.98pl4 and after that 0.98pl5. I tried using LILO again, however
mixed up some files (map, boot.b, Image) and then even tried using LILO 6.
The bottom line is, my hard disk can't be made bootable at all, the way
I did it a week befoe, even if I use the Image from 0.98pl1. I get
the following error message:

'Boot Sector is version 4 expecting version 6'

or something along that line. Should I go back to using LILO 5 or does
that have nothing to do with it. Now I'm stuck to booting from floppy
everytime.
