I know this isn't really a Linux problem, but I'm going to send it anyway.
I recently got hold of a Conner CP3046 40MB IDE hard disk (with the intention
of mounting in for linux as I currently have Linux+X11+TeX+xfig squeezed
into a 45MB partition!) and tried to use it daisychained as a D drive with
my Seagate ST-1102A 88MB IDE drive. However - no luck. It works fine on its own
as a drive C, and I think I'm setting the jumpers correctly for drive D, but
it just says 'drive failure' on D. Has anybody any idea? are the drives
incompatible?

thanks a lot

David Wild

ps. Linux is mindbogglingly brilliant. Thanks Linus+everyone!
