Since I'm thinking to run Linux as the OS for a machine that would run heavy
numerical code (both floating point and integer stuff), i'd like to know
what are the performance that a 486 would have on some benchmarks (e.g.
whetstones, linpacks, and/or SPECmarks). Also I'd like any sugestion peculiar
to Linux to improve such performances.
Thanks,
