Tcsh doesn't work for me also. I have also noticed a problem with echo.
Whenever I use it, it logs me out. X acted a bit strange, too. I had
one user that could not use X. The server would start and then just hang.
If another user started X, and then quit, the first could start X. This
problem went away when I reinstalled pl3.
