I'm not taking a chance here. My current Always Technology IN-2000 SCSI
controller doesn't work with Linux, so I am getting an UltraStor 14F which
is specifically mentioned as being supported. The new controller is also
SCSI-2 and Fast SCSI, which my IN-2000 isn't.

I think I have just found a use for my 286/20 system board - build it up
into a second system and network it to my main box (a 386/40) so I can play
with TCP/IP and other networking features of Linux. After I get the new
SCSI controller and video adapter (next month hopfully), I'll only need
another case, keyboard, monitor, and hard drive for the second system. Of
course, I'll also need two network adapters to do this. I've been wanting
to tinker with a LAN of my own for quite awhile and this should work out
pretty well with Linux.

I need a bigger hard drive to replace my 200 Meg SCSI drive anyway so I
can make my 340 Meg drive the primary boot disk because I don't have enough
space for all the bootable OS partitions I need/want here at present.
