In university settings, one possible way to get the message out, would
be to start a local users group.
I and several others here at The Ohio State University are discussing
just that. We feel that there should be a an installation kit that
others could borrow or copy (most likely SLS, which is excellent),
documentation of some kind, and access to people that can help with at
least, but not limited to, installation.
We would also like to start some local projects that those in the user
group could participate in.
It would be nice if we could make it a club/organization officially
recognized by the Student Activities Committee.
As for advertising, we could post to local news groups, as well as
posting signs around campus. It may also be possible to do some
advertising at some point.
Has anyone else started such a group? I would be interested in
hearing about your experiences.
