Subject: does minicom work with 8 bit characters?
Date: Sat, 7 Nov 1992 01:36:17 GMT

Hi,

I have a foreign language emulator(Korean, specifically) that uses 8 bit
characters. I am trying to ring in to my school and use the editor there
(stevie) which works with 8 bit characters. However, I am having no luck
as the characters won't get passed by the shell for some reason.

I have a feeling that this is due to minicom because:

1. I can get the characters at home with zsh.
2. I have the characters working at school with school emulator(same prog
which I have compiled at home)
3. I have stty pass8 on both sides.(school and at home).
4. I have been able to get the characters with other comm progs, even though
I wasn't using the emulator then(it was a DOS comm prog that caters for Korean characters).

Does anyone have any experiences with 8 bit characters with minicom?
If they do, I would appreciate any help

Jae
