Ah! The clamour for applications! Where have I heard that before. Several
weeks ago, I sent a message about apps, specifically the lack of them.
I received 6 replies, one of them saying that it wasn't a real issue.
The other five people & I are discussing the writing/porting/enhancing
of a spreadsheet, word processor & communications program (Yes, we know
about sc, oleo, xcomm, minicomm et.al). The EZ word processor from the
Andrew toolkit (right, brian?) is being considered as a possible port
candidate.
I created an APPS channel on the linux-mailing-list. If you are interested
in helping in this effort please join in. If more interested folks are
involved, there is a better chance of getting something out soon. Also
this channel is not meant to restrict discussion to true applications
like WPs etc. I think any tool that makes life easier for the user is
an "app".
Comments, advice, opinions are most welcome.
