Not exactly true. IBM has a family of similar chips. They call them
486slc2, because the chips have internal clock double the speed the
bus is (like Intel DX2 chips). They claim their faster version of
the chip (25/50 MHz) to be comparable in speed to 486DX/33.

Their new entry-level mca-machines are based on the chips.
