Well, I have a kernel which outputs (via printk) to the screen every
time that IRQ4 is called, and it outputs to the screen either with
stty parodd >/dev/ttys1 or stty parodd </dev/ttys1
in other words, it does SOMETHING either way. Also, using my very dumb
terminal, doing a stty parodd >/dev/ttys1 clears up the display, and makes
everything work. I am not saying that you are wrong, just that MY
stty seems to work on BOTH stdin AND stdout. I have used both ways, with
basically the same results. One Note however: When I use it on stdin,
it is a lot more stable. In other words, when I use it on stdout,
after a little while, it will revert to a previous state. :(
I also have a problem with a terminal(or pc,linux machine with xc,...)
haveing a lot of difficulty talking with linux(logging in)
I set up the getty, and logged in(even as root) I can be in
the middle of something, and suddenly, POOF, I se:
raskol login:
seems that getty doesn't wait for you to logout, or maybe bash doesn't
like terminals(or maybe it is a bit of line noise, but I am useing a
null-modem cable that works great for other purposes)
*NOTE: I am changing the serial FAQ to not include that question, as it
seems that I am the only who has ever asked it. :)
